Gloria Flatterich, left, and Dode Carlson take delivery of 10 redwood saplings for the city of Mukilteo on Feb 25, 2017.

Ten large pots were ready for the ten redwood saplings to be planted by Climate Justice Ambassadors from the Seattle Chapter of Plant for the Planet, under the supervision of the Mukilteo Community Gardeners.

Success! The first tree is planted by the young Climate Justice Ambassador on the left with the blue jacket.

Mukilteo Community Garden is abuzz with Community Gardeners and Climate Ambassadors from Plant for the Planet getting ready to plant the remaining nine redwood saplings.

All ten redwood saplings, clones of some of the oldest and largest California coast redwood, are finally at home in new soil at the Mukilteo Community Garden, where they will be cared for until they are ready to be planted in the city park a year or two from now.
